Drug Abuse Resistance Education
Sheriff Allen started the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program in 1988. It was one of the first in the state and has operated continuously ever since.

Each year DARE is taught to over 400 fifth graders throughout the county. DARE teaches students the different ways to say "NO" to peers and drugs.
